Hayley McManus

RBT & Autistic Advocate

Hayley was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 10. In high school, she became more open with her diagnosis and began to advocate openly about autism in efforts to educate those around her. At this time, she was introduced to American Sign Language, and heavily involved herself with related clubs and activities. She realized that sign language could be another tool to use in instances of being nonverbal.

Hayley earned her Bachelor's of Science in Behavioral Healthcare with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and a minor in Deaf Studies from the University of South Florida in December of 2022. She is currently going back to USF to pursue a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Analysis.

Hayley is passionate about incorporating the use of sign language in treatment practices, for both verbal and nonverbal individuals. She hopes to connect with clients and allow them to foster skills that can guide them towards independence in the future.
